2011 May 3rd Nancy BARNHART's work
continued Nancy''s spherical coverings
(reminder = a spherical cover ( a core ) is NOT a particular
knot (it can have other use like covering other shape than a
globe/ball) but a particular USE
or FUNCTION
of a knot. Note in
the 2 firts picture how Nanacy astutely marks the correction to make.

friends. GUITAR FENDER

2011 March 17th from Claude HOCHET (SCK
spherical covering knot )
As an
umpteenth test for his new
software we have been using since the very beginning
of 2011
that can do ( grid AND codes ) ANY NESTED BIGHT CYLINDRICAL KNOTS
Here is a variation on his 408 FACEs/ 408 crossings which is still 408
crossings for 204
FACEs.
This also show that for spherical covering not only the number of FACEs
has to be stated
but also the number of crossings.
So
this particular one is SCK goes by the sweet name of 23
LEADs 4 BIGHT-NEST / 6 BIGHTs per Nest = 24 BIGHTs
408 CROSSINGs
204 FACEs ( 02 - U2 coding )

= a 504
FACEs made as spherical covering of a French
billiard ball. Claude made
it to verify his new program ( the one spoken here under in the Feb 1st
topic
The 456F has already been shown, but this 504 is new.
Here is what the program does for the 456F
and here for the 504F
Of course the program give the code of each Half-Period in the knot.

Claude
HOCHET At last I got
permission, at the occasion of Nono's 828 Faces inspired by ESCHER,
to show something I have been privy to for some time : even before the
RKnot Builder
VERSION 3 could be put on line.
This
software ( no distribution, no English, no user's manual ).
This software demands -that tis a
rather feeble word - a deep knowledge of those knots
and
IMO for the third type (the irregular) ) a real powerful grasp
on the topic.
This software -very astute algorithm, firts version written in 3 days
!!!- can do :
Ofcourse it also compute the table of coding for each Half-Period :
integrated tutorial so
to speak ;-)

NESTED CYLINDRICAL KNOTS SYMETRIC ( Herringbone,

A REALLY GOOD PRACTICAL JOKE : here

Don was
way off! he made half an inch too much.
So Barry BROW jokingly told that he would take the excess for his non

Jan realisation of the famous NONO's bracelet, the single strand
version of #1389 . [open quote] I used 3
pages of the 12 bights and 1 page of the 14
bights. 3 mm rope. Total 50
bights. The first attempt was
in white cotton, but failed by to many mistakes. After the first round
I had to take out the 8 mistakes. [end quote]
